Background:
|
Milwaukee Excellence Charter School was established as a non-instrumentality charter school beginning with the 2016-2017 school year. The contract is for up to a maximum of 840 FTE pupils in grades 6 through 12 for the 2022-23 school year. Milwaukee Excellence has two campuses located at 4950 North 24th Street for grades 6 – 8 and 3620 North 18th Street for grades 9 – 11. Milwaukee Excellence’s mission is through rigorous academics and character education essential for success, to educate 6th through 12th grade students to excel within and graduate from four-year colleges and pursue the professions of their choice. On February 24, 2022, the Board approved a lease agreement with Milwaukee Excellence Charter School for the Happy Hill facility located at 7171 W. Brown Deer Road. The attached redline contract reflects the change in locations and title of leadership.

Upon the Board's approval, the amended non-instrumentality charter school contract with Milwaukee Excellence Charter School will be sent to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Your Committee recommends that the Board approve the amendment to the non-instrumentality charter school contract with Milwaukee Excellence, Inc., for Milwaukee Excellence Charter School.
