Background:
|
February 23, 2017 Administrative Procedure 7.33: Grading Systems was revised to include the use of weighted grades in the calculation of high school grade point averages. Courses identified for weighted grades included all Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), and selected Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses. Over the last couple of years, there has been an increase in high school students taking college courses through dual enrollment. Currently college courses are not weighted. To encourage and not penalize high school students taking selected college courses, the proposed revision would allow college courses to be weighted. Additionally, there are some technical revisions to correct missing performance level options for elementary and secondary school teachers to use when grading. |
